Erik D. Wiberg
Vice President, Business Development

Erik D. Wiberg has served as our Vice President, Business Development since December 2010. Prior to Anacor, Mr. Wiberg most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Catalyst Biosciences, Inc., a privately-held, biotechnology company in South San Francisco. Mr. Wiberg was responsible for finance, business development and administration of the company, where he raised over $100 million through financing and business development transactions. From 1998 through 2006, Mr. Wiberg worked at ALZA Corporation, most recently as Vice President, Business Development where he directed a team which focused on in-licensing compounds and collaborating with drug delivery companies to build ALZA’s product and technology portfolio. Prior to his position at ALZA, Mr. Wiberg worked as a sell-side equity research analyst covering healthcare companies, and prior to that, he worked in investment banking. Mr. Wiberg received a dual degree from the University of Pennsylvania – a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a B.A.S. from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
